The Frida Kahlo x Vans LX OG Authentic is a special collaboration featuring effervescent images from the Mexican painter and activist’s collection. Released as part of the Vault line, a premium sub-label of Vans, the OG Sk8-Hi, OG Authentic, and OG Slip-On showcase images of Kahlo’s popular work spanning the 1930s to 1950s. The OG Authentic LX has significant meaning as it contains images from Kahlo’s last known painting, 1954’s “Viva la Vida, Watermelons.” The entire upper of the OG Authentic gives off a tropical vibe with watermelons and various shades of orange, green, and white. A two-toned Vans tag with red and green, the colors of the Flag of Mexico, replaces the traditional Vans branding. A white rubber midsole and waffle gum bottom complete the rest of the design.
