The grade school Nike Kobe 8 originally released in November 2013. The basketball shoes are clearly inspired by Kobe Bryant's "Black Mamba" nickname with a grey snakeskin pattern covering the Engineered Mesh upper. Bright red hits can be seen on the Kobe logo on each tongue and heel, as well as on the heel counter. Purple colors the tongue, laces, and Swoosh on each side panel. The kids Nike Kobe 8 "Mine Grey" colorway is completed with a red-speckled purple midsole and grey outsole. A lightweight Lunarlon midsole provides additional cushioning on the court.
