The Jordan Spiz’ike “BHM 2013” was originally released in February 2013 as part of a collection of Nike shoes that honors Black History Month. A hybrid design consisting of elements of the Air Jordan 3, 4, 5, and 6, the Spiz’ike is named after Spike Lee, a central figure in the early success and commercial appeal of Air Jordan shoes. As for his colorway, the “Black History Month” from 2013 is dipped in a Volt monochromatic color scheme that attracts much warranted attention. The Air Jordan 3’s traditional elephant pattern appears on the heel and toe. Elsewhere, the Air Jordan 4’s plastic “Wings” lace holder assisted in holding the lacing system in place. Additional overtures to classic Jordan models include the a neoprene lace cover with Photo Blue “BHM” embroidery lifted from the Jordan 6 and netting on the mid-panel taken from Jordan 5.
