The Nike SB Dunk Low “Carhartt” is a rugged colorway of the iconic low-top skate shoe that salutes the workwear brand. Released all the way back in 2004 during the SB Dunk’s “Silver Box” era, the “Carhartt” bears no affiliation to the heritage clothing brand and is a precursor to the many Carhartt and Nike collaborations that would take place in the 2010s. The design’s brown canvas upper is undoubtedly inspired by Cahartt’s brown canvas chore coats and workwear pants. For contrast, Nike SB adds dark brown laces on top of the puffy canvas tongue. Moreover, the white nylon tongue tag with brown Nike insignia mimics the color pattern of Carhartt’s “C” logo and brown “Nike” embroidery is stitched onto the heel. The brown rubber midsole is contrasted by a black outsole with ample grip for skateboarding.
