The Ben Drury x Nike Air Max 1 “Hold Tight” is a rare collaboration between the UK artist and Nike Sportswear on the first-ever Air Max shoe. The “Hold Tight” was released in 2006 as part of the Nike “Air U Breathe” pack, which consisted of an Air Max 1, Air Stab, and Air Max 360. Drury’s “Hold Tight” colorway is influenced by the pirate radio scene in London and features design overtures like a pulsar stitch pattern on the heel that mimics the signals of radio transmissions. Perforated black leather detailing can be found on the toe and collar. A white tumbled leather Swoosh resides on the black leather mid-panel. Tonal felt overlays appear on the forefoot and upper eyelets. The phrase “HOLD TIGHT” is embroidered on the tongue tag and reflective detailing is applied to the mudguard. A visible Air unit can be found in the heel of the white midsole. Release date: September 2006. Ben Drury
