Looking for the best low-top sneakers for Summer 2021? You’ll find them all right here.
Few sneaker silhouettes are better suited for summer than low-tops, which are synonymous with summer style because of how easy they are to pair with essentials like crew socks, shorts, and tees. Putting together an all-purpose, go-anywhere outfit for the warm weather months is really that easy when you complete your ‘fit with a great low-top shoe.
These are our picks for the ten best low-top sneakers for Summer 2021.
Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey”
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey” is Jordan Brand’s answer to the perfect summer shoe. Its white leather construction and low-contrast grey accents work with anything you pair it with and its sleek, streamlined silhouette is neither domineering nor blase. Aside from its serious bonafides as a quintessential summer sneaker, the Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey” is an original colorway of the low-top Jordan 1 from 1985, meaning its high on cred, too.
adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Mono Ice”
Featuring a one-piece translucent mesh construction, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Mono Ice” is a prime candidate for any summer sneaker collection. Both airy and lightweight, not to mention extremely comfortable due to its Boost cushioned midsole, the “Mono Ice” literally looks like an ice cube in the design of a sneaker. That’s gotta count for something, too, right?
adidas Yeezy 500 “Taupe Light”
We’ve unfairly pegged the best summer sneaker as an all-white leather or canvas shoe in the past and we’re hoping to amend that now by bringing up the adidas Yeezy 500 “Taupe Light.” A bit more bulky than your standard summer-sneaker-affair, the “Taupe Light” is still a great low-top for the summer because of its neutral-colored, retro design. Just as the adidas Stan Smith is in the same regard.
Nike Air Max Pre-Day “Pure Platinum”
A little over a decade before Michael Jordan sold Air Jordans in record-breaking numbers, Steve Prefontaine was Nike’s premier athlete. The Oregon Track Club long distance runner set every American record from 2,000 to 10,000 meters while preparing for the 1976 Olympics and was an endorser of the brand’s pioneering running shoes in the ‘70s. Nike honored the late Olympian when it named its retro-modern, Waffle Racer-inspired Air Max Pre-Day after him in March 2021. You may never be able to run as fast as Prefontaine, but at least you can channel some of the groovy footwear worn by “Pre” with the “Pure Platinum” colorway.
Women’s Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sail/Multicolor”
The Nike Air Force 1 Low is a summer staple. The Women’s Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sail/Multicolor” gives the iconic low-top a colorful update that hits every chord of today’s vintage-obsessed zeitgeist. Need we say more?
Supreme x Vans Skate Era “Monogram S Logo” - Red + Black
A partnership that dates back to 1996, the Supreme and Vans tandem has created a miles long list of great summer sneakers, the latest being the Skate Era in the “Monogram S Logo” colorway. If skating and chilling are a high priority this summer, you could do no better than this canvas-based, low-top dandy.
adidas Yeezy Boost 700 “Enflame Amber”
Any shoe that looks like an offspring of the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 “Wave Runner” gets our stamp of approval for the summer, so we’re behind the “Enflame Amber” colorway as one of the season’s best low-tops.
Nike Dunk Low “Michigan” + “Team Green”
We’re calling this the ‘Rivalry” collection even though it doesn’t technically exist. Whatever. Appearing in a “Michigan” and “Team Green,” A.K.A. “Michigan State,” style, these two Nike Dunk Lows are the essence of summer footwear. The two college basketball-themed colorways salute the school’s in-state rivalry while simultaneously saluting the “Be True to Your School” Dunk pack released by Nike in 1985.
sacai x Nike Blazer Low “Magma Orange”
After exploring the Nike Blazer Mid in 2019, sacai turned its attention to the model’s more obscure yet equally timeless low-top design for Summer 2021. The low-top edition features all of the same wonky details of sacai’s first Blazer collaboration, including two sets of laces, two tongues, two Swooshes, and a stacked rubber midsole. In “Magma Orange,” the sacai x Nike Blazer Low is the most summer-appropriate release ever devised by the offbeat high fashion brand.
Parley x adidas Ultra Boost 6.0 “Non-Dyed”
When adidas taps Parley, an environmentally conscious, non-profit organization, for a collaboration, one of two things will happen: another shoe we feel good about putting on our feet is let out into the world and, more importantly, adidas continues its efforts in reducing its carbon footprint. The Ultra Boost 6.0 “Non-Dyed” accomplishes this and looks mighty great for the summer, too.
